About: Hi, I'm Kat. Feel free to refer to me using any feline-related nickname you wish. I like it when people call me things like Kitty Kat or Kitten. :3

I'm an artist, a music junkie, college student, an aunt, and lots of other things. I'm currently residing in Oakland, CA but I'm from Grand Rapids, MI. When it comes to my personality, I'm an INFP big time. I love art, nature, psychology, science, surrealism, psychedelia, atheism, feminism, sex, books, bikes, musicians, intellectuals, eccentrics, and animals. Some of my favorite bands include: of Montreal, Queen Adreena, Metric, Warpaint, Modest Mouse, The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ladytron, Starfucker, and of course, The Beatles. If you're curious about anything else, feel free to ask!

I also help run a blog dedicated to KatieJane Garside: lullabies in a glass wilderness

mdma-waffles asked: Lol i never actually saw Grimes before, shes so retro and cool!

Yeah she’s so great! I can’t get enough of her new album right now. You should check it out, it’s called Visions.

ajonesco asked: Oh, psht, everyone's allowed to have some negative show through. No one is always perfectly content with everything and that badness doesn't need to be hidden and bottled up. I don't see any problem in being negative -- it's only an issue when the negative outweighs the positive so greatly in their overall outlook, like you said.

Anonymous asked: Your comment on negative people sounded exactly like the people you were trying to illustrate. Perhaps unconditional loving acceptance to all beings would be how to bring positive energy to a negative person. Being an example to those you wish to change by unconditionally loving and accepting them, despite their negativity, instead of taking yourself to their level. Just a perspective, take it for what its worth. No matter what, I still accept you for exactly who you are in this very moment. <3

Haha yeah, I know. I was aware that my little rant was actually an example itself in a way. Irony, I think? But like I said, sometimes people just need to vent. It’s something that’s been bothering me for awhile, and that photo happened to pop up expressing my sentiment exactly. I do try to be a good example, consciously making an effort to stay positive and encourage positivity as much as possible. I definitely don’t make a habit of pointing out others’ flaws. But I think maybe some might need a less subtle wake-up call than that. Maybe they aren’t even aware they do it, you know? I probably shouldn’t have told them to stfu, but otherwise I stand by what I said. I appreciate your perspective and your accepting nature. Thank you. <3

olga-lemongrass asked: I would get you Rainbow Trip for Christmas! PLEASE google that if you haven't omggg

If you’re talking about this game that showed up as the first result… wat. This makes my brain feel weird.

hermitry said: and a kidnapped David Tennant, with a big bow like the boss from Christmas Vacation

fishturnpink asked: kaleidoscope, diary of Anais Nin and telescope necklace

Ooh very interesting! I would definitely enjoy those things. :)

hermitry asked: happiness and/or a bag of weed.

Yes please. :)

Anonymous asked: Lsd and roses

That would be fantastic!

hannahisawful asked: oops, I justt saw your reply to my weed post! nahh, you're not a douche about it. I meant all the people I know IRL who seem to either think it makes them a fucking badass, or seem to have zero other interests because it's the only thing they are everrr willing to talk about. I've lost a couple friends because I quit smoking weed and they suddenly got super into it, and it became their only interest, and it's like they had nothing to talk to me about anymore :|

Ahh yeah I used to know a lot of people like that. “Dooood, I smoked so much ganj last night, huh huh, it was crazyyy.”  But there are a lot of really cool people who smoke and manage to maintain other hobbies. And I saw that you said it messes with your anxiety. It does that to me a little too. That’s why I prefer to smoke alone or with a close friend so I/we can just get silly and weird without worrying about how everyone is perceiving me/us. Have you ever tried smoking on your own? I always have such a good time. Plus, it makes it easier for me to think through problems, everything just seems clearer and less heavy.

Anonymous asked: What's your opinion of Sasha Grey?

I don’t know very much about her, but I like her. I heard she’s an advocate for lgbt rights and I think she’s a feminist, right? That’s pretty awesome. Oh yeah and she’s gorgeous.

Anonymous asked: Not only do I love your blog ( heh found it ) but I also am secretly infatuated with you. K. here we go I got this idea from a spam msg I received on Facebook lol.. I know you like me but were always way too shy to say so :3 go hit up crushmasher(dõt)com (uhh it wont let me do a regular link) then make an acct there. Search for the profile 'justmeandu33' ( obv me ) I posted body pix.. if u can figure out who I am msg me and we'll kick it. CC required for age but it is free. (annoying i know)

kitcloudkickr asked: woah you live near gr? wait do i know you? are we friend IRL? how did this happen? what is going on?

Haha I’m not sure! I live in Grandville, like 10 minutes outside of GR. Maybe you found my blog through a fellow Grand Rapidian? Do you recognize me?

habitualtides asked: Hey, I just wanted to send you little note. You are such an incredible person of strong convictions and intelligence, and I know that depression is not an easy thing to battle. Even when you feel the worst of it, remember that each little step forward, each small action is improvement and cause for small celebration. It is comforting to me that there are others on this lovely little website that are going through the same thing I am, and I am always sending you peaceful, calm vibrations of love.

Awww thank you so much for this. <3

butterscotch-crotch asked: five, six and fifteen

5 (5 most played songs on itunes)

Warpaint - Beetles
Warpaint - Elephants
Warpaint - Billie Holiday
Deradoorian - Weed Jam
Metric - Soft Rock Star

6 (5 most recently added songs)

Frankie Rose and the Outs’ self-titled album

15 (Band I first saw live)

Well technically that would be my dad’s band, The Honeytones. They held band practices in my basement weekly since I was teeny tiny, and I’d go see them play at the city summer music festival every year. But if we’re talking big-name bands, my first was Nsync! Hahahaha. My dad took my sister and me to see them when I was 12 or so. I was so happy. I was sooo in love with Lance Bass. I don’t find him attractive in the slightest now.
